Bali Tulamben

Bali Tulamben Dive Trip

Underneath the sea approximately 30 meters from the beach shore in Bali Tulamben lies the famous USS Liberty Wreck. It is a 120 meters long World War II cargo ship which was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine out in Lombok Strait on 11 January 1942 but managed to made its way back to the shore. Bali Tulamben has been a popular diving destination since 1980s for this main reason.

Bali Tulamben is located on the northeast coast of Bali. Divers from all over the world are lured to one of Bali’s most famous dive site to explore, especially for macro-lovers and photographers.

Apart from the USS Liberty Wreck, there are also other numerous dive sites teeming with marine life around the coast of Tulamben. A good example would be the popular Coral Garden which has sunken Buddha statues, forming what seems to be like a mystical underwater temple.

Near the coastal stretch of the USS Libery ship wreck, you can sight the Bumphead parrot fish in morning dawn dives. You can also expect to see large and diverse species of underwater marine life such as sea turtles, sharks, squids, octopus, starfish, eels, manta rays, etc.
