Obtained your Open Water Diving Certification and ready to step up and progress as an Advance diver?

The Advance Water Scuba Diving Course helps you to build confidence as a diver. Through various adventure dives, it will help to develop and expand your scuba diving skills as well. Concurrently, you may also try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification allows you to dive at deeper depths of 30m and consist of 5 practical training dives.

Course Syllabus

During the Advance Water Diving Course, you can log in dives and develop scuba diving capabilities while having fun! You will get the opportunity to experience some of diving's useful dive specialties such as:

Night Diving

See nocturnal life and organisms you don't see during the day. Witness different behaviors and true colours from the sea species.

Thinking Like A Diver

As a prudent diver, you will learn to plan dives with secondary objectives, develop situational awareness, able to manage task loading and maintaining good dive habits.

Drift Diving

Allows you to dive with the current instead of against it, expending relatively little energy. Learn the 4 advantages & concerns of drift diving.

Underwater Navigation

Learn to navigate underwater with greater accuracy and precision.  Good avigation makes a dive planning more effective, and more efficient use of your time and gas.

Deep Diving

30 metres / 100 feet is the recommended limit for Advance Open Water Divers and is considered the optimal recreational depth limit.

Peak Performance Buoyancy

Learn the mark of an accomplished diver, consisting of proper weighting, trim, bouyancy adjustment and streamling.

Boat Diving

Boat diving allows you to move easily from one site to another, avoiding long surface swims. Boating itself is fun and recreational.

Identify Fish Species

Learn to identify various types of fish species, looking for common characteristics. Knowing more about fish makes the best use of your limited time underwater.

Getting Started

Once you have signed up for Advanced Open Water Diver Online – PADI’s eLearning option, you may use the web-based system to learn about seven of the most popular Adventures Dives such as Deep Diving, Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Boat Diving, Night, Diving , Fish Identification, etc. You may study at your own pace through PADI’s easy to use interactive program. You can also choose to read the Advanced Open Water Diver manual and watch the Advanced Open Water Diver video. Our PADI Instructor will arrange to meet with you to schedule knowledge review sessions along with your Adventure Dives.


Beside using the basic scuba equipment such as your snorkel, mask, wetsuit, booties, fins, dive computer, safety marker buoy (SMB), you will also require a compass, reef hook, and/or dive tool. You’ll also use specialized gear depending on the Adventure Dives you choose. Our PADI certified Instructor will explain the equipment that you need and may suggest additional gear, such as dive light for night diving or lift bag for search and recovery diving.


  • Must be Open water diver certified.
  • Minimum of 12 years old
  • Good health and reasonably fit

Note: This course can be taken right after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification.
